Fun Learning Things to Do in February

February is full of fun and educational activities that you can do with your children at home. These are great to beat the winter blahs and the potential boredom of the routine!

Journey North Mystery Class starts January 29th"Mystery Class is a global game of hide-and-seek. Follow photoperiod clues to search for ten secret sites around the world. Track sunlight to solve a mystery! Discover the reasons for seasons along the way". Check out the How to Participate guide for all the details. We have been doing this in our homeschool for the last 8 years and look forward to this 9th year looking for the 10 mystery classes!

The Great Backyard Bird Count is held February 12 to 15 this year. "The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are across the continent. Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as 15 minutes on one day, or you can count for as long as you like each day of the event. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds".

We have enjoyed looking for birds and submitting our findings each year!
