Lifetime: The Amazing Numbers of Animal Lives ~ Book Review

Lifetime: The Amazing Numbers in Animal Lives by Lola M. Schaefer is a counting book filled with animals, that is also packed with fascinating facts. Each page is filled with gorgeous illustrations by Christopher Silas Neal.

We really enjoyed reading through this counting book. Through it, we learned facts about each animal's behaviour or growth, something each animal does in its lifetime. For example: "in one lifetime a woodpecker will drill 30 roosting holes in the woods". The numbers keep increasing, all the way to the 1000 tiny seahorses!

After the counting pages, the author writes more about each animal, including the average adult life span. It is fascinating to read more about each. She also includes a page that explains what an average is. The author also writes about why she loves math and gives us two little problems to solve!

This book would be great for children who love animals!
