Art every day month ~ day 20 ~ blue bird of happiness

I talked about using "Drawing with Children" by Mona Brookes as my art curriculum for our homeschool this year with my 3 children on my main blog Serendipity. I learn right along with them, and this is my bird. You can read the post about it here.
I call this little bird my "blue bird of happiness". When I was growing up I used to watch this movie every Christmas (which is why I chose these blue colours) :

  2. From my own experiences I can see that sometimes it just works out better if we (parents) do our art along with the kids when it's their art time. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one doing this. Thanks for sharing your picture. It's so sweet. I think that there is something to be said about the feeling ignited inside us when we use kids markers or crayons. The child within is released on the paper! Great Job!

  3. I love creating with my boys. So often I get my inspiration from them--my four year old has a knack for picking the best color schemes. They have this kind of reckless abandon for art, with no regard for "rules." Love it!
