just because homemade gifts

I have been busy this weekend completing a couple of projects. First was a placemat for Adrienne. I made it reversible, with a snow and penguin theme on one side, and a purple girly fabric on the other. She told me she loved it!

While looking for a fabric suitable for binding Adrienne's placemat, I came upon this flowers and butterfly fabric. I had made a tote bag with it for my husband's grandmother a couple of years ago and had just enough to make her a little placemat with it. It has the same fabric on each side.  I hope she will like it.
Finally, I finished the grey purse. This is made using the leftover fabric from my husband's pants, after he cut them off to make shorts last summer. I lined it with a zig zag print and added metal buttons. This purse is going to my dear friend in France. One of the little x-mas trees from the previous post is also going with it!

I love making things and giving them to my family and friends. I am hoping 2010 gives me lots of opportunities to make and give more.

  1. Oh Alex...I admire you! How I wish to make creative memories to hand out to family members. Maybe I will learn some new things this yr as well! *hint hint* haha
