Walk in the Forest :: First Snow & Fox Tracks

We got our first snow! We woke up to a white wonderland this morning.

Celeste has been waiting for this first snow since the weather turned cooler. I knew she would want to get outside as soon as possible today. With the sun shining and the little amount of snow we did get, we went out as soon as our Math and Language Arts work was completed, before it all melted.

Celeste insisted on shovelling our driveway and then we went for a walk in the small forest.

Foxes are everywhere on PEI. We see them regularly. Wednesday evening, we saw one around the corner of a building in Charlottetown, by the water.

We have seen foxes in this small forested area near our home. We think this is one of their dens. We noticed tracks in the snow. With no human prints around, we are guessing these are fox tracks but we could be wrong! I have researched information on fox tracks and they seem to fit the description. She put a little snow down the fox's den entrance "to give them water".

We continued our walk in the forest, enjoying the fresh air, the sunshine and nature all around us. A beautiful first snowy day on Prince Edward Island!
