Friday morning, we went to the Charlottetown Fire Station #1 with our homeschool group. The field trip started with information for the parents which was interesting and valuable. Fire Prevention Week is coming soon. Our tour guide really stressed the importance of being prepared. I added a short list of useful links to the bottom of this post.
The rest of the tour was filled with fun for the kids: climbing aboard each fire truck, learning about the equipment the fire fighters use, and how everything needs to be prepared and organized.
Fire Prevention Links:
How to make a home fire escape plan (pdf) from Sparky.org
Sparky has a lot of activities, games for kids, and fire trucks!
3 minute drill from Alberta.ca (prevention, detection, escape drills)
Scholastic has lessons, printables, and more for fire safety.
Thanks for the pics! My boys were excited to see them. They had been sad to miss it.
