Who Bread, Snoopy Quilt, & More Making

We have been watching the Winter Olympics, sometimes with more than one event going on at the same time thanks to CBC Olympics and their online coverage (and our ipad/computer)! We are super proud of our Canadian athletes, these have been great games to watch.

While watching, various making has been going on...

Celeste wanted to make her own coaster. She made it all by herself, with only my supervision and guidance. It turned out really cute (just like her). I love that she is using the skills I taught her a while back to make something just for herself!

For my part, I have a few projects to share with you. I missed last week so it might seem like a lot...

The Quilty Stitches I mentioned in my last make & listen post are so cute. I completed the second one and will start on the third this weekend. Check out Little Miss Shabby for all the patterns and instructions.

The Once Upon a Time Sampler block for February is the Princess and the Frog. It's adorable! I can't wait to see March. This year long pattern is from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. If you are thinking of joining in, do it soon, the price goes up March 1st! Here is the link again: Once Upon a Time Sampler.

I have been getting a little frustrated with my Snoopy quilt and what fabric to use for the sashing. I asked for opinions on my instagram. Friends helped out a lot and after starting out with a dark brown, I finally settled on a light blue fabric with a swirly pattern. I then felt like it needed a bit more, so I put together a patchwork border with left over fabrics. The top is now finished and I am happier. Next I will piece the backing...

Another making this week was the yummy Who bread *everyday oat bread* from the Rhythm of Family book by Amanda Soule. She is known as Soule Mama which is a great blog. You can find the recipe here. The recipe online is a little bit different than the one in the book, but I bet just as delicious. I've made this twice already. I know it will become a staple at our house. Two loaves don't last long!

I am linking this post to Dawn's weekly make & listen along at Simple Things Notebook.

Your stitching is adorable. Those little quilt block stitches are sweet.
I really like the way the snoopy quilt top came out. The patchwork border looks great.
The Olympics have been very fun to watch with the kids. It warms my heart to hear them cheering for both of their countries. ;-)
    Thanks for joining in!
