Kaleidoscope 2014 Festival :: Balderston's Farm Tulips ~ Sand & Sky Creations

Celeste and I visited the Kaleidoscope Festival in Stratford yesterday while my teens were at cadet band practice. It was a gorgeous day to be outside and we wanted to see if the tulips were blooming.

A shuttle service was available from the town centre so we took advantage of it. We went to the Balderston's Farm only, happy to look at the tulips and pick some to take home.

More than 250,000 tulips bulbs are planted here by Vanco Farms, but only a few were in full bloom so far. We will be back again to see more, still it was very enjoyable to see all the different colours and types of tulips.

We also visited the tent at the farm that hosted several local artisans. We stopped for a while at Sand & Sky Creations to watch her spin yard by hand. Celeste was mesmerized by the process.

You can find Sand & Sky Creations and her beautiful yarn and patterns here.  I don't know how to crochet or knit but her patterns really make me wish I did! I love the Queen of Hearts fingerless gloves..

  1. Hi! You should definitely learn to knit or crochet... visit your local yarn shop and ask about lessons. Or look on Youtube if you're the type who can learn from a video. More fun with live people, though. And get your children to learn also :)
    There are lots of free resources online. Check out Knitty magazine for patterns and techniques, and Ravelry for community, patterns and more (like FB for knitters!).
