Crenshaw ~ Book Review

Crenshaw is written by Katherine Applegate, author of The One and Only Ivan. Crenshaw is the story of a young boy, Jackson, and his imaginary friend who is a large peculiar cat named Crenshaw.

Jackson's family is going through a difficult time financially and are facing eviction from their apartment. They have gone through hard times like this before unfortunately. Jackson recollects their past experience as well as sharing with us his parents' current struggles to make money. It is an emotional story. It is also magical because of the relationship between Jackson and his imaginary cat Crenshaw.

Celeste, who is 11, told me she liked the story and that it was "very life like". She would recommend it!

I personally thought it was a magical story about real family life and friendships, with his parents, sister and his imaginary friend.
