I just finished this sweet Maker's Tote this morning and love it! I started working on this just last night, so it went pretty smoothly. I might have stayed up...a little obsessed once I got started!
The pattern is by Anna Graham from Noodlehead and can be found here. It's going to be a great carry-all for me! It's great for carrying small art or craft supplies, regular purse things and a book or two. Anna mentions on her blog post that her design is a twist on the classic doctor's bag.
The pattern comes with instructions for two sizes, I made the small size. I used my favourite Cotton + Steel fabrics for this bag, along with a nice grey fabric for the lining and binding that I found at the local Fabricville.
I love the inside pockets. I chose to not add the outside pockets. I was working on this late at night and just couldn't seem to understand the directions. I will likely make another bag and will look at those outside pockets directions again. I added a little zipper pull because I like that finished look for the zipper.
Noodlehead's patterns are great. I made the Super Tote last year. Celeste has taken that one...hopefully I will get to keep this one! She has a long list of free tutorials as well as great patterns for sale. {I am not an affiliate or anything of that sort for Anna or Cotton + Steel, I really love her designs and their fabric line and want to spread the word!}
Oh my I just love this! Heading on over to check out the pattern. Thanks, Alex. Your bag is swoon-worthy. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis looks terrific! I'm debating whether to try the small or the large....thoughts?
