Library of Luminaries Jane Austen ~ Book Review

Library of Luminaries is a new collection of beautifully illustrated biographies from Chronicle Books.  Celeste and I reviewed Jane Austen written by Zena Alkayat and illustrated by Nina Cosford. We loved the small square format of this book, and the handwritten text! I think collecting the other biographies in this series would be lovely, the other title released so far is Virginia Woolf.

This biography shares an overview of Jane Austen's personal life with interesting little details. It also explains where Jane found inspiration for her novels in every day life around her, relationships, and society. I loved reading about her life and her family's. It was interesting to read about the novels she wrote and the challenges of getting published, as well as her travels and failed relationships.

Celeste enjoyed reading about Jane's life and especially liked to read the original titles for the well known novels she wrote. She was surprised to find out that a prince wrote to her and that she dedicated "Emma" to him.
