Coco Chanel Library of Luminaries ~ Book Review

The Library of Luminaries is a series of illustrated biographies from Chronicle Books that are delightful as well as interesting to read. We read and reviewed Jane Austen in March from the same series.

Coco Chanel is worldwide known as a women's fashion designer. Her life is fascinating to read, from her difficult childhood to her relationships as an adult. I particularly enjoyed reading about her growth as a designer and how she continued to follow her dreams and her own style. I also liked reading Coco Chanel's quotes which are sprinkled throughout the book. The illustrations bring a lot of details to this biography, especially her "simple" hats that she sold at the start of her career and later, her fashion pieces that are recognized by many all over the world.
