Virginia Woolf ~ Library of Luminaries Book Review

The Library of Luminaries is a series of illustrated biographies from Chronicle Books that are delightful as well as interesting to read. We read and reviewed Jane Austen in March. I also just reviewed Coco Chanel from the same series.

I did not know any details on the life of Virginia Woolf so this was even more interesting to read. Virginia Woolf was a 20th century English novelist. I would like to read at least one of her novels this summer.

This biography, written by Zena Alkayat, is filled with interesting facts about her journey as a writer and publisher. Virginia and her husband created Hogarth Press. I also enjoyed reading about her relationship with Leonard, and the different homes she lived in.

The book is filled with lovely illustrations by Nina Cosford and like the other titles in this Library of Luminaries series, add so much to the biography. There are quotes throughout the book as well, many more from Virginia's diaries.
