Strathgartney Provincial Park Trail

Strathgartney Provincial Park in Prince Edward Island has a beautiful trail that follows along the West River. This past weekend, while my kids were having a field training exercise with the Army Cadets, I walked part of the trail. It was a beautiful sunny day, so welcomed after many grey days!

The trail was very quiet and I only passed a few people on my way back. The fall colours were still pretty strong.

I shared on my instagram that nature is my happy place. It really is. No matter how I feel before spending time in nature, once I do, I feel "recharged" and rejuvenated. It doesn't have to be a long time, a good 30 minutes submerged in the forest, by the ocean, or even in my own garden will do it for me. The natural world has always been dear to me, even when I was little. As a teenager and young adult, I still needed that time too.

Part of the trails climbs high and I could see the tops of some of the trees. I have been told that ospreys can be observed for the area, but I did not see any this time...maybe next time!

Fall is a great time for nature walks, especially in the woods. The air might be crisper, but the mosquitoes and black flies are gone.

I am so grateful to live on this little island, where I can drive or even walk to quiet nature trails like these, and recharge my personal battery!
