This month's focus for nature study is "garden flowers". What perfect timing! Our Journey North tulips just opened up a few days ago, and other little flowers are popping up here and there. I need to keep better track of what we plant so I can recognize what comes up!

We started our garden flower nature study by simply observing the flowers in our own garden. We have read the little Pocket Nature book on flowers, and a lovely book from the library called "The Flower Alphabet Book" by Jerry Pallotta. We used the Wildflowers Peterson Field Guide to identify the Hyacinth, we haven't used the colouring book yet.
Check out the Handbook of Nature Study blog for more info on this month's nature study focus! This post is linked to the Outdoor Hour Challenge Carnival.
